Bonjour! I’m Alan, a French-born pickleball coach, player, competitor, organiser, referee, and proud committee member at KRC. I arrived in New Zealand in 2018, and this country quickly became home—especially once I discovered pickleball.
I started playing in 2025, just once a week at first. But like many people who fall in love with this sport, it didn’t stay that way for long. One session became two, then three, and before I knew it, I was playing almost every day. Pickleball captured me completely, and I’ve been involved in every aspect of it ever since.
Why I Coach?
I coach because I want to introduce sport—and pickleball in particular—to my students and show them the fantastic feeling of playing this game. Pickleball gave me joy, fun, and a sense of belonging, and I hope to pass that same experience on to every player I meet.
Who I Coach?
I coach people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Pickleball is one of the most inclusive sports in the world, and I truly believe that anyone who is willing to learn can improve their game. Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time or looking to sharpen your skills, you’re welcome in my sessions.
The Coach I Strive to Be?
I want to be a coach who includes everyone. The beauty of pickleball is that you can play with your mum, your uncle, or even your grandpa—have fun, be competitive, and create memories together. My goal is to build an environment where every player feels comfortable, supported, and excited to learn. When people enjoy themselves, confidence grows, and with confidence comes improvement.
Pickleball has given me community, connection, and joy. As a coach, I’m here to share all of that with you.
